Service Report: 5.3 Gas Hob Flame Issues

Symptoms Observed: Incorrect flame colour, flame not staying lit, or no spark on ignition.

Service Findings:

1. Flame Colour Incorrect

   • Observation: The flame is not a steady blue, indicating potential combustion issues.
   • Burner Service Needed: Cleaning and servicing of the burner are recommended to ensure the correct air-to-gas mixture for proper combustion.

2. Flame Not Staying Lit

   • Thermocouple Issue: The thermocouple may be faulty or misaligned, preventing it from detecting the flame correctly.
   • Actions:
     • Alignment and Repair: Adjust the thermocouple position for accurate flame detection.
     • Replacement: Replace the thermocouple if alignment does not resolve the issue.

3. No Spark or Ignition Failure

   • Wiring Check: Loose or damaged wiring may be interrupting the ignition process.
   • Actions:
     • Repair Loose or Damaged Wiring: Reconnect or secure any loose wiring as necessary.
     • Piezo igniter Replacement: Replace wiring if damaged beyond repair.

Recommendation:
For safety, we do not recommend a DIY repair. Please use one of CCCAMPERS’ qualified technicians for a full inspection and repair, as unresolved flame issues can present gas safety hazards.
