3.3 Swivel Seat Certification Notice: No M1 Certificate Provided—Travel Safety Not Guaranteed

During your recent habitation service, we noted that no M1 certificate was provided for the installed swivel seat. This certification is crucial as it confirms that the seat has passed the necessary safety and crash tests required for passenger vehicles. Without it, we cannot verify that the seat meets the required safety standards for use while traveling.

There are several reasons why this certification may not have been presented:

• Non-M1 Certified Seat: The swivel seat may not have undergone the necessary crash and safety tests to receive M1 certification.

• Retrofit Without Certification: Some swivel seats are retrofitted without being tested in the specific vehicle, which disqualifies them from M1 certification.

• Missing Documentation: The seat could be M1 certified, but the documentation was not supplied during the service, either by oversight or because it wasn’t provided by the manufacturer.

To ensure your safety, we recommend the following:

• Request the Certification: If the seat should be M1 certified, please contact the original converter or manufacturer for the documentation. Alternatively, you may need to consider removing or replacing the seat.
